The LyxPro XBM-8 Microphone Desktop Base is a solid and well-made base for gooseneck microphones with a built-in XLR socket. The base is easy to use and has a unique locking feature that prevents the mic from accidental removal. The switch on the unit shorts out the tip and ring pins to silence the microphone, but some customers have complained of audio bleeding and pops. However, this problem can be fixed by cutting one of the wires to disable the switch. The base is passive and does not have any power, and it should work fine with most microphones as long as they do not require phantom power and have no switches on them.
