The story follows protagonist Koji Kabuto as he inherits an 18-metre tall robot to fight Dr. Hell, a dangerous antagonist in a several-year-long war. The anime was produced by Toei Animation and has limitations in animation due to animator strikes. Nevertheless, the series was extremely popular for a reason, with viewers praising the good balance between otherworldly events and human drama, making it more relatable to viewers. Despite having a large number of 92 episodes, it lacked a lot of psychological/character episodes for the main characters, and one character, Misato, was poorly written and served only to irritate viewers.
