    Answer: This is a soaking whetstone. You have to immerse the whetstone into the water for 20 minutes prior to use.

    Answer: The recommended angle is 15-20 degrees.

    Answer: Our Whetstone Sharpening Kit is made of Aluminum Oxide.

    Answer: Do not store in water, it'll degrade. When you're done sharpening, take the stone out of the wooden holder, let it drip dry on a rack over a towel and then store it wrapped in a paper towel or newspaper page in your kitchen cabinet.
  • Question: Can this be used on a curved dagger type blade?

    Answer: It can be used on any type of blade that is smooth and can touch the stone meaning no bread knife. In the case of a curved blade you’d have to sharpen it a section at a time.

The Premium Whetstone Knife Sharpener is a soaking whetstone made of aluminum oxide that comes with 2 sides with 1000/6000 grits, a sharpening angle guide, and a non-slip bamboo base. It can be used on any smooth blade but curved blades need to be sharpened section by section. So, it is recommended for fine-tuning the blade rather than heavily damaged or pitted ones. However, it is a little messy to use. Customers have had mixed experiences with the product. Some had issues with chipped stones and bases while others praised how well packaged the product was. Some found the instructions easy to understand and others noted that it is necessary to have previous experience in manually sharpening knives.
