The alternator can accept a 3/8" or 1/2" belt and is designed as a 12V alternator. Mounting and connectivity are straightforward and users can remove the rubber cover to plug in the wires embedded in the alternator. While some reviewers reported overheating and/or low amperage problems, others indicated no issues in their vehicles, including a 1971 Chevy C-10, a 1957 Chevy and an Olds Cutlass Supreme 1985. The alternator presents well with no surface rust. For users switching from a generator to an alternator, they must change the voltage transformer and all the bulbs if they have a 6V system.
